Production Manager

Position: Production Manager

Salary range 75K-90K


The Production Manager will be responsible for the supervision, formulation, administration and coordination of product assembly projects, policies, processes, methods and procedures designed to improve operating performance, reduce waste and delays and otherwise promote cost reductions. This position is responsible for managing the production department, keeping projects on schedule, safety, ensuring job quality standards, and providing overall great customer service. The Production Manager is responsible verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of orders, and keeping up with industry compliances.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the list below. Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, materials and parts.

  • Activities involve using time-study or standard data for a variety of machine, assembly and hand operations, production methods, equipment layout, material handling, and manpower, equipment and material utilization in order to improve operating performance.

  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.

  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.

  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.

  • Train production personnel in new or existing methods.

  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.

  • Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.

  • Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.

  • Oversee warehouse production up to and including staff scheduling, training, inventory and order process.

  • Maintain operational and logistics procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of products, and keeping of warehouse inventory

  • Inspect machines and equipment, review operating reports and resolve operational / maintenance issues

  • Working in tandem with Procurement Manager to oversee warehouse inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits

  • Follow all quality standards, procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Having a keen eye on budgets and budgetary changes

  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are followed

  • Supporting the CEO and global executive team’s vision and process ideals

  • Working as one unified global manufacturing team which includes regular communication with COO of beMatrix HQ and regular interaction with:

  • Production Manager Europe

  • Planner

  • 5S & Lean specialist

  • Logistics Specialist

  • Safety & Environmental Coordinator

  • Quality Coordinator

  • Able to travel including ongoing training at HQ in Belgium 2-3 weeks per year

  • Responsible for tracking, reporting & influencing performance on the following KPI’s:

  • Days without work accident (#)

  • Customer claims per month (#)

  • On time delivery (%)

  • Stock adjustments (% and $)

  • Picking lines / labor hour

  • Produced frame / labor hour

  • Ability to set-up simple & transparent processes


· 5+ years’ experience in Engineering, Assembly and/or Mechanical Management – BSIE or BSME preferred

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.

· 5+ years of manufacturing/assembly/warehouse leadership

· Experience with Lean / Six Sigma / 5S helpful

· International work experience preferred

· Forklift certification helpful

· Basic understanding of the exhibition industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job

· OSHA Training

· Proven experience working with an ERP system, MS Office Suite and ability to work in multiple computer systems and programs

· Ability to lift 15- 25 lbs

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
