POSITION SUMMARY: Our Director-Operations is a highly motivated, organized member of our management team. This position is responsible for the management of operations in our Engineering, Project Management, Event Technologies, Shop, Warehouse and Graphics departments to ensure performance at peak efficiency. The Director-Operations works with employees to meet critical deadlines and constantly improve professionally. During peak times, this position will be required to work long hours. Performance will be evaluated based on fulfilling the responsibilities of the position described in a timely, accurate, professional, and responsive manner; participating as part of a team; and developing and maintaining positive relationships with company employees, customers, and vendors.
Additional Requirements: • Manage and evaluate resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime. • Develop and maintain production schedules in related areas by coordinating with all departments. • Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising safety, accuracy and quality. • Ensure that all employees are appropriately trained to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures. • Deliver project updates throughout the project to affected departments, communicating any problems or obstacles to Senior Leadership. • Ensure outgoing freight for new project builds is properly packed to prevent damage during shipment. • Maintain the physical condition of the Warehouse by planning and organizing accurate storage of assets. • Assist the estimator with determining project hours. • Provide ongoing quality checks on all production projects. • Coordinate cross-training throughout and between the departments. • Maintain quality staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. • Effectively supervise staff by participating in coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, as well as planning, monitoring and appraising performance. • Develop and implement short- and long-term goals for each of your departments and team members. • Strive to reduce expenses while improving productivity in all areas. • Achieve financial objectives by analyzing project budgets to manhours and initiating corrective actions, ongoing inventory management, providing accurate estimates, and performing time and material analysis. • Ensure appropriate, quality construction and shipping standards are met. • Ensure all employees follow industry guidelines for health and safety. • Assist in all areas when needed. Qualifications: • A minimum of five years of management experience, preferably in the trade show industry. • Working knowledge in related areas of our Engineering, Project Management, Event Technologies, Shop, Warehouse and Graphics. • Understanding of and experience working with financials statements and reporting. • Experience with production scheduling and reporting with prioritization of projects. • Highly effective communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with clients and employees at all levels of the organization. • Flexible, adaptable and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, adjust to peak volume, and short timelines in a fast-paced environment. • Proactive and committed to continuous process improvement. • Ability to inspire teams to bring out their best and do things beyond what they thought they could do. • Be a reliable role model for the facility, bringing a positive attitude to the office. • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office. Familiarity with industry-related softwares is a plus. • Must be able to work overtime, and at times, with minimal notice. • Some travel may be required.
